chase

"Why are you running?", I thought. I pursued. I lost sight.

"Oh he is running too?"...

I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked that way and came to a stop. It was taking both of us a while to catch our breath. I was confused as to how I got ahead. There was an incomprehensible smile strained under heavy breathing and a tilted head shouldered by the hands on hips, hardly held together by tired knees. "Doesn't usually run", I thought. I am out of shape myself.

"OK. Let's go.", I was told. I looked at the runner. I turned in the other direction to see if there was a bench. None there. I started to stroll ahead in search of one. Let her run.

on vacation

Going home...
to see the sun stop and move north...
to see the year's bounty...
to see the new doors open...
to be... at home.
